NO PLAY, JUST BUSINESS
Seems like everything is flowing smoothly according to plan except to one thing, we haven't set a meeting with our business partners. We just communicate with them thru phone and e-mails coz Carlo is based in Manila & Ditz is based in Africa. Since Ditz would be taking his vacation back home, we took the opportunity of meeting him as well so we decided to booked our flight right away to Manila on that same week when Ditz would be there.

Target Clinic Locations
My beau & I will be investing in 2 clinics, yeah you read it right, one in Sta.Rosa, Laguna which our partners would be my sister and cousin and the other one would be in Taft, Manila with our paddle-side brothers.
Since my beau has a condo unit at One Archer's Place, beside DLSU, he decided to lease a commercial space there together with our paddle-side brothers. We think that it's gonna be a hit since it's the only dental clinic near his Alma Mater. We're gonna target mostly the students in that area.
Second location would be in Sta.Rosa, since it's my hometown. My sister & cousin would be our partners there. We'd be pulling most of our relatives, friends & classmates to get their teeth done in our clinic. That's the master plan. Ha!
Setting Up Our Taft & Sta.Rosa Dental Clinics
I know it's not gonna be easy setting up a dental clinic in the Philippines. My beau & I came up with a feasibility study, it's like measuring the success of the dental practice that we're gonna set up. Yes, we're very prudent. We want to make sure that everything is in place. We did it so we could present it to our possible business partners and get their approval right away.
A. Business Partners - Glad we were able to get our business partners right away, we have family & paddle-side brothers who are very supportive to us. Thanks to them.
I didn't know that there are different kinds of partners in the partnerships, so I have to share you this.
1. Active / Ostensible Partner
2. Secret Partner
3. Dormant/ Non-Active/ Sleeping Partner - *Very Interesting
4. Nominal Partner
5. Silent Partner
Time is very precious. We talked to our possible business partners, sent them the FS and got it approved in no time. Next thing I know is we're already dealing with the dental suppliers, architects , building contractors & possible clinic staff.
B. Suppliers - dealing with them isn't easy because we have to do our business over the phone, we have make calls overseas & e-mail them.
C. Architects - We are fortunate enough to have architects in both sides of our family. We're just waiting for their Preliminary Plan which includes the architectural, electrical & sanitary plans of the dental clinic.
D. Building Contractors - We already have our standby contractors, they're just waiting for the architects' instructions to enable them to start.
E. Dental Associates & Staff - At the moment, we're trying to contact some of my friends & colleagues who our interested to join our practice.
I guess everything is going smoothly. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we'd be able to open our clinic the soonest. This really excites me!

Under Construction
One night while my beau & I were about to sleep after our flight back to Singapore from Philippines, he suddenly asked me, "Do you really want to put up your dream clinic?"... that question awakened my then sleepy brain cells and answered him "Yes!" right away.
My beau & I were back in Manila from 3rd-13th of June of this year (2011) to attend his brother's wedding. During the reception we had a chance to chat with his cousin,Doc Gail, which is a also dentist. (Yes, I'm a licensed dentist in the Philippines. After a year of practice I decided to leave my country, by chance, and chose to work in a foreign soil.) We greeted her, said hello and she greeted ask back, asked us how we were. So as to a normal conversation of 2 dentists, we didn't fail to talk about our buhay dentista (the dentist's life), her practice and my job here in Singapore. While having a good conversation with her she asked me a question that would make me realize of my future plan (again).
"When will you be putting up my your own clinic here? Start while you're still young."
( I actually got that question a lot from my friends and family.)
I just answered her that I'm planning to put it up in a year or 2. Maybe. What an indefinite answer. In a year or 2 because that's the time that I have to renew my permanent resident status here in Singapore. I have no idea what would be my next move as well because I'm also waiting my US family-petition (I've been waiting it since 1994). I don't want to depend my life with it so life goes on here in Singapore & Manila. I'm just thankful that I have a very supportive beau. Finally, with the help and push of him, my dream will soon become a reality. Thanks to Eetzzee and to the Great Man above.
So today, 21st of July 2011, if ever Doc Gail would ask me again, I could answer her question already with a very certain answer, "Oh yeah! It's under construction now."
